Jueun Drops '1,2,3,4' Under Brotherhood Entertainment

On September 19, 2024, Jueun, a South Korean singer-songwriter and actress, returned with her highly anticipated fourth digital single, "1,2,3,4." This release marks a pivotal moment in her solo career, as it’s the first under her new agency, Brotherhood Entertainment. Known to fans as a versatile performer, Jueun's journey from being a member of the girl group DIA to carving out a solo career has been filled with creative evolution, resilience, and artistic expression. The release of "1,2,3,4" comes with high expectations, not only for the music itself but for the visual experience as well. The music video was directed by renowned actor and director Go Kyung-pyo, who also starred in the video, creating a unique artistic collaboration that promises to captivate viewers.

With this partnership, the video elevates the song, blending cinematic elements with Jueun’s music to create a visually and emotionally compelling narrative.  The single was crafted by an impressive team of collaborators. Jueun co-wrote "1,2,3,4" alongside Moon Sujin and Summer Soul, two of the rising names in the K-pop songwriting scene. On the production side, she worked with Berry (of Rocoberry), Nois upGrader, Moon Sujin, and Kim Chang-hyun, blending their styles to create a song that reflects Jueun's growth as an artist. With contributions from such a diverse pool of talent, "1,2,3,4" stands out as a powerful blend of pop sensibilities and innovative sounds that push Jueun’s music to new heights.

Jueun’s journey began as a member of the girl group DIA, joining the lineup in 2017 alongside fellow member Somyi. They were introduced as new members just before the release of DIA's second studio album, YOLO, marking her official debut with the group. In the same year, she became part of DIA’s second sub-unit, L.U.B., further showcasing her versatility as both a group and unit performer. Her sweet, yet emotive voice and stage presence quickly caught the attention of K-pop fans. While her early career was primarily defined by her work with DIA, Jueun began to show an interest in expanding her musical horizons. In 2019, she took part in the vocal reality survival show V-1, which focused on highlighting vocal talents from various K-pop girl groups. Although she was eliminated in the first round after losing to Dreamcatcher's Siyeon, the experience pushed her to further hone her craft as a vocalist and performer.

Her first major step into the solo spotlight came in December 2022 when AER MUSIC announced that Jueun had signed with the agency. Just a few months later, on April 27, 2023, she officially debuted as a solo artist with the single album Easy Breezy. This marked a turning point in her career, as she began to establish herself as a solo artist distinct from her identity in DIA. The breezy, catchy sound of her debut single showcased her growth and versatility, hinting at the potential for even greater things to come. Following her solo debut, 2024 proved to be a year of significant change for Jueun. In May, she transferred from AER MUSIC to EPISODE MUSIC, where she released the digital single "Stay" on June 28. However, her tenure with EPISODE MUSIC was short-lived, as the agency announced the end of their contract with Jueun on August 16, 2024.

"1,2,3,4" represents not just a new song, but the beginning of a new era for Jueun. Under Brotherhood Entertainment, Jueun seems poised to explore even greater creative depths. The song itself is a reflection of her evolution as an artist, blending pop elements with a unique and refreshing sound that sets it apart from her earlier releases. Fans and critics alike have noted how Jueun's vocals shine in this track, combining emotional vulnerability with confidence. The collaboration with Go Kyung-pyo in the music video adds a layer of intrigue, as both the song and its visuals come together to tell a cohesive and engaging story. Go's involvement, both as the director and as an actor in the video, has raised expectations for the project. His nuanced direction style, combined with Jueun's performance, promises a captivating visual narrative that enhances the listening experience.

As Jueun embarks on this new chapter of her career, her fans eagerly await what comes next. Having successfully transitioned from being a member of DIA to a solo artist, she is on a journey that is defined by personal growth and artistic exploration. "1,2,3,4" is just the beginning of what promises to be an exciting new era for Jueun under Brotherhood Entertainment. Her resilience through multiple agency changes and her determination to keep pushing forward as an artist show just how committed she is to her craft. Whether through her songwriting, performing, or acting, Jueun continues to captivate audiences, and "1,2,3,4" is proof that she is a force to be reckoned with in the K-pop industry.
