EVNNE’s journey to debut began with their participation in Boys Planet, the male version of Girls Planet 999. The show garnered much attention, and on August 3, 2023, it was officially confirmed that seven trainees from Boys Planet, including Rain Company artist and Ciipher member Keita, WAKEONE trainees Hanbin, Jeonghyeon, Junghyun, and Jihoo, and Yue Hua Entertainment trainees Seungeon and Yunseo, would be forming a project boy group under Jellyfish Entertainment. Initially named BLIT, the group decided to change their name to EVNNE on August 9 to avoid potential misunderstandings.
They promptly opened their official social media accounts, further building anticipation among fans. The group’s debut date was officially announced on August 16, 2023, and a detailed scheduler was released on August 23, revealing their plans leading up to the highly-anticipated debut.
