South Korean music sensation Lim Young Min, revered for his multifaceted talents as a rapper and singer-songwriter, is set to captivate the world with his highly anticipated debut EP titled “Room.” The EP is scheduled for release on August 29, 2023, and is poised to redefine the boundaries of musical artistry. The mesmerizing title track, “In My Room,” is primed to take the K-pop scene by storm. Lim Young Min, affectionately known as Young Min, boasts an illustrious career journey. Emerging from the prestigious Brand New Music label, he gained prominence as the former leader of the boy group AB6IX and an integral member of its project unit MXM. The K-pop luminary’s boundless talents are further exemplified through his role in the project group YDPP.

In 2017, Young Min became a household name when he participated in the second season of Mnet’s survival television show, Produce 101, alongside fellow trainees from Brand New Music. Despite narrowly missing out on a debut with Wanna One, his indomitable spirit led him to new horizons. September 6, 2017, marked a pivotal moment as Young Min, in collaboration with fellow eliminated trainee Kim Dong Hyun, debuted as the dynamic duo MXM. Their mini-album “Unmix” resonated with fans, featuring the iconic title track “I’m The One.” This marked the inception of MXM as a sub-unit within Brand New Music’s prospective boy group. The K-pop journey continued with the remarkable project group YDPP, a collaborative effort between Starship Entertainment and Brand New Music. Their digital single “Love It Live It” cemented their reputation as a force to be reckoned with, amassing a dedicated global fanbase.
On June 4, 2020, Brand New Music revealed that on May 31, after drinking at a personal gathering, Youngmin was stopped by the police when he drove home. He was charged with a DUI and had his license revoked. In light of this, Youngmin had temporarily halted his activities from AB6IX and will not participate in their third EP Vivid. Later that same day, he posted a handwritten apology to the AB6IX fancafe. On June 8 2020, Brand New Music announced Youngmin’s departure from the group with respect for his wish to no longer cause harm to the group. On November 3, 2020, it was announced that Youngmin began his military service on the same day as an active duty soldier. He was discharged on May 2, 2022. On January 9, 2023, he opened an Instagram account. On August 13, he announced his solo debut with his first EP, Room, set to be released on August 29.
