Confirming the news on July 18, it was reported that Somi’s comeback was slated for August, and later in the day, The Black Label officially confirmed the reports. Building up the excitement further, on July 24, it was announced that her first EP, “Game Plan,” would be hitting the shelves on August 7.

Jeon Somi’s musical journey has been remarkable. She made her solo debut on June 13, 2019, with the digital single “Birthday.” Prior to that, she gained fame as a member of the project girl groups I.O.I, Unnies, and Girls Next Door. After finishing first in Mnet’s survival television show “Produce 101” in 2016, she became the center of the girl group I.O.I. The group made its debut with the mini-album “Chrysalis” and the title track “Dream Girls” on May 4, 2016. Following the disbandment of I.O.I, Somi signed with JYP Entertainment and pursued solo activities and brand endorsements. However, in 2018, she joined YG Entertainment’s sub-label The Black Label.
