Enhypen, also stylized as ENHYPEN, is a South Korean boy band that was formed through the 2020 survival competition show I-Land. The group is managed by Belift Lab, a joint venture between CJ ENM and Hybe Corporation. Enhypen consists of seven talented members: Heeseung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, Jungwon, and Ni-ki. They made their debut on November 30, 2020, with the release of their extended play (EP) titled “Border: Day One.” During the final episode of I-Land, the name Enhypen was introduced. The group derived their name from the hyphen symbol (-), which symbolizes “Connection, Discovery, & Growth.” They aim to come together as a group, connect with each other, discover their individual and collective potentials, and grow together to create a new act. Enhypen does not have official positions for its members, except for the leader and the center. The group’s goal is for each member to excel in all positions and develop well-rounded skills.

In 2021, Enhypen achieved several milestones. They made their first comeback with the mini album “Border: Carnival” and secured their first win on the music show “The Show” with the title track “Drunk-Dazed.” The group also made their Japanese debut with the single “Border: 儚い,” which included Japanese versions of their songs “Given-Taken” and “Let Me In (20 Cube),” along with a new Japanese song. In 2022, Enhypen continued to make waves in the music industry. They released their first studio album, “Dimension: Dilemma,” in October. They also unveiled their second original Japanese song, “Always,” and released their second Japanese single, “Dimension: 閃光.” Additionally, the group made a comeback with their third mini album, “Manifesto: Day 1.” Enhypen’s popularity extended globally, and they announced plans for a world tour starting in mid-September, with concerts scheduled in Korea, Japan, the United States, and more.

However, in August 2022, member Sunoo announced a hiatus due to health reasons. The group continued promoting as six members until his return. In October, Enhypen released their second original Japanese song, “Make The Change,” and their first Japanese studio album, “定め.” Looking ahead to 2023, Enhypen has exciting plans in store. CEO Park Ji Won announced that the group will release a new album following the conclusion of their world tour. Additionally, the members will be voice acting in the animated film “Baby Shark’s Big Movie.” In May, Enhypen made a comeback with their fourth mini album, “Dark Blood.” They also announced the dates and locations for their upcoming world tour, titled “ENHYPEN World Tour ‘Fate’.” Enhypen continues to captivate fans with their music, performances, and engaging activities, solidifying their status as one of the prominent rising boy bands in the K-pop industry.
