Starship Entertainment’s IVE have been confirmed to join the lineup for the ‘2022 Idol Star Athletics Championship’ (2022 ISAC). ‘ISAC’ will be filmed from July 30 to August 1 KST. The holiday special is scheduled to air during Chuseok in September. The ‘2022 ISAC’ is returning this Chuseok holiday after 2 years, and Jun Hyun Moo, F.T. Island’s Hongki, and TWICE’s Dahyun were named the official hosts of the special. According to reports on July 20, IVE are also slated to appear as a whole group. The show is broadcast by MBC.
The Idol Star Athletics Championships is a South Korean television program which aired for the first time in 2010. The program features celebrities, most notably Korean pop idols singers and groups, which compete in multi-sport events. The idol stars will be competing in a total of 5 sporting categories: track and field, archery, dance sports, futsal, and e-sports. The inaugural event for this upcoming ‘2022 ISAC’ is dance sports, also known as competitive ballroom dancing (waltz, swing, rumba, cha cha, etc). In addition, Futsal is also returning this year for the first time since 2016.
IVE (아이브) is a six-member girl group under Starship Entertainment. On November 1, 2021 the group’s official SNS accounts were opened along with the reveal of their name “IVE” and the motion video of their logo. On November 2, the next day, a Naver article was published reporting that the group will be made up of six members and that previously revealed members An Yujin and Jang Wonyoung are to be included. On November 2, Yujin was officially announced as the group’s first member,[8] followed by Gaeul on November 3, Wonyoung on November 4, Liz on November 5, Rei on November 6,[12] and Leeseo on November 7. They debuted on December 1, 2021 with their single album “Eleven”. Their name is an abbreviation for “I Have”.
